Starting today, I am going to start providing information about
Japan in English for my overseas readers. I plan to write about
the situation in Japan, the challenges it faces, its future prospects,
and many other things.

The reason why I decided to write this column in English is because
there are so many people who do not know about Japan due to the
language barrier. By sending out information in English, such
problems can be gradually solved.

However, I am not very good at English. Therefore, I rely heavily
on automatic translation software to write this column. I plan to
check the translation many times, but if my English is unnatural,
please forgive me.

今日から、海外の読者のために、英語で日本の情報を提供することに
しました。日本の現状や課題、今後の展望など、さまざまなことを書いて
いくつもりです。

なぜ、このコラムを英語で書こうと思ったかというと、言葉の壁があって
日本のことを知らない人がたくさんいるからです。英語で情報を発信する
ことで、そのような問題が少しずつ解決されていくのではないでしょうか。

しかし、私は英語があまり得意ではありません。そのため、このコラムは
自動翻訳ソフトに頼って書いています。何度も翻訳を確認するつもりですが、
もし不自然な英語になっていたらご容赦ください。

※「The Japan Report」は海外在住の方向けのコラムです。今後は週に
数回、英語のコラムを掲載する予定です。
